Seafood cake stick is one of the most beloved street foods in Korea. Treat yourself whenever, wherever you want with this easy homemade recipe!
Ingredients(serving size: 6 each)
20 uncooked shrimps
1 uncooked squid
¼ onion
1 scallion
½ cup bell pepper
1 egg
1tbsp mirin
1 cup cooking oil
Sauce: 3tbsp corn starch, 1tbsp flour, 1/2tbsp minced garlic, 1/2tbsp sesame oil, salt & pepper
1. In a food processor, blend squid, shrimp, and egg together. When they turn into a smooth paste, add cut vegetables, mirin, and sauce ingredients. Blend until everything is mixed thoroughly.
2. Spread the mixture evenly on a flat surface. Brush some cooking oil on a wide spatula and divide the mixture into five to six long pieces with the spatula.
3. Slide the pieces into the hot oil gently. If they are too sticky, make them into smaller pieces. Stir occasionally to fry all sides evenly. Fry until golden brown.
4. Stick each seafood cake on skewers. Dip it in ketchup or mustard.
